Jeni Paay is Associate Professor in Interaction Design in the School of Design, Centre for Design Innovation, at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.

After working as an Associate Professor in the Research Centre for Socio-Interactive Design at Aalborg University in Denmark for 7 years, she has recently returned to Australia to continue research and teaching in Interaction Design and HCI. Prior to this, she was Lead Interaction Designer on the “Blended Interaction Spaces” project with CSIRO Australia.
Jeni has a cross-disciplinary background spanning architecture, computer science, and interaction design, and has published widely within the area of Human-Computer Interaction. She has worked within the overall research themes of human-computer interaction, design methods and interaction design for urban and domestic computing for over twenty-five years. Her research interests include the design of technologies for health behaviour change, interaction design for the internet of things for access to online services, design for digital information sharing in public spaces, understanding design contexts through user-centred design methods, interaction design within the wine industry, and user interaction with the smart home.
