Dr. Matthew Parnell
Dr. Matthew Parnell is a sustainability academic and practitioner with over thirty years of professional experience of applying sustainability in the built environment, education, research, business and social enterprise. He is a published author, researcher and educator, including ten years of experience as a University lecturer in sustainable development at the University of Tasmania School of Architecture and the Technology Education Course at Southern Cross University. He also has experience at management level in commercial, academic and non-government sectors.
For ten years prior to joining Swinburne University, he ran his own sustainability consultancy, Greensynergy Consulting, working on sustainability projects in urban, rural, regional and remote Australia. Areas of consulting activity included sustainability services in green building, energy assessment, education and cultural change through partnerships with designers, developers, business, industry and community organizations, and government agencies.
