Dr. Yenny Rahmayati
CDI Post Doctoral Fellow: Core Program - Humanitarian Village
Dr Yenny Rahmayati is a researcher with an architecture background working with several international aid agencies and non-profit organisations, primarily in the area of cultural heritage and community development in post-disaster contexts. Yenny’s work focuses on the processes of societal socio-cultural transformation and changing lifestyle, short term as well as long term, paying particular attention to post-disaster new housing visions, processes and programs. Her current research proposes a new post-disaster housing reconstruction attitude and a new type of action based upon local down-to-earth real contexts and concerns. This approach contributes to the fields of architecture, design and planning (targeting architects, planners, aid agencies and builders as the main reconstruction actors), and to the concepts which will influence decisions in design and planning housing in post-disaster projects in the future.
